Maimi in some Manga Magazine

For a while it was a bit scary to know Maimi Yajima was featured in a Japanese Magazine, with the little trauma we have for Friday, but then it was all clear when the Magazine was known as Websunday' Shogakukan Manga Magazine which featured some really great pictures of the leader of ºC-ute.

I can't believe how Maimi becomes more beautiful everyday.

Otaku no Musume-san

Yesterday I read this the review of this Manga at What'sYourDesire and I thought it was interesting. Since a long time ago I'm a fan of light and simple story Mangas, those which talk about real life or simple things, and this seems to be one of them.

OnM-san-v1ch01_000a

Otaku no Musume means "An Otaku's Daughter" and obviously is about a girls who's father is an Otaku and their life together. Happens to be that this girls, Kana Yukimura, have not seen her father, Kouta Morisaki, in her entire 11 years life, and finally came into his life, and start living with him and some neighbors that are as Otaku as Kuota is.

The life of Kuota and Kana becomes interesting because a daughter is not a thing an Otaku is used to lead with.

The Japanese Manga is still publishing and 3volumes long for now, but the English scanlations by Akatsuki are in the sixth chapter of the first volume.

Stan Lee and Hiroyuki Takei together for one Manga

Stan-Lee_Hiroyuki-Takei

Every day it's more and more common to see American and Japanese joining forces for animation projects. And it's of no surprise that something in the Marvel Universe becomes Mangaish.

Stan-Leehiroyuki_takei_01

This time is the very Stan Lee who will be joining forces and talent with Hiroyuki Takei, the creator of Shaman King, for a new Manga series in Shueisha's Jump Square Magazine.

Drawing Anime in Photoshop

After watching at some videos of Anime Style Drawings in Corel Painter, I wanted to find some other videos for Photoshop, because it's the software I have been using since some years ago.

anime-photoshop_001

Happily I found these videos in YouTube from user aucifiel which are not only good, but they are very interesting specially the technic he uses for the coloring of the hair and faces.

anime-photoshop_002

Here's the video of the first drawing.

Haruhi x Mikuru - Speedpaint

I don't like the final result very much because of the bad position of the left character. But the work with the colors and lights is great. In the video's description states that the drawing took about 1.5 hours and 26hours to render the video.

Here's another one, much more simple.

Interview with Ken'ichi Matsuyama @ Yahoo! JP

There's only two days left to the release of the new Live Action Movie based in Death Note Manga, L: Change the World. And Yahoo! JP have published an interview with the actor that plays the role of L, Ken'ichi Matsuyama. Ken'ichi have become an Idol thanks to his interpretation of this character, the favorite of Death Note's fans.

Ken'ichi-Matsuyama_001

I don't understand Japanese so I don't know what this interview is about, but obviously it's something related to the movie. So I leave this link for anyone who can read Japanese (yahoo.co.jp/).

This third movie of Death Note will be released this Saturday, February 9.

And even though the interview in that page has the date of today, I found this video in YouTube that was uploaded since January 18.

I think this is the same interview, unless he don't change cloths for different interviews.

Akira Toriyama & Masakazu Katsura New Manga

dragonball01is3

Akira Toriyama creator of the most popular Manga on the Earth, and his friend Masakazu Katsura the creator of the best Mangas in this life (he's my favorite Mangaka) will work together in a new One Shot Manga for Sueisha's Jump Square Magazine. The Manga will be published in this May issue.

katsura-toriyama

The announcement was made in the Magazine's (http://jumpsq.shueisha.co.jp/) website and they promise more information later (source ANN).

Masakazu Katsura and Akira Toriyama have more in common than they seem to have. Their drawing styles were something similar in different time in their careers.

For example, one of the first works of Katsura was Wingman, and it's art is a bit similar to this we see in Dr. Slump.

WingMan1 drslump1gl

But the similarity is more obvious during the Saiyan Era. There's no doubt that the Mega Playboy and the Saiyans are from the same planet.

dna2 three

It's a shame to see Toriyama's art become more and more serialized and simple. But it's not the same with Katsura. The creator of Zetman reached a level of Manga Art that can't be reproduced in anime. While Dragon Ball Z Manga and Anime were exactly the same.

zetman_001 dragon-ball-16

But when it comes to the plots, they are the opposite sides of the same coin. One writes simple stories about fighting and then more fight, while the other one talk about the classic love triangle surrounded by science fiction.

Anyway, I'd kill for seeing the Manga these two Mangaka Masters will create.

New Death Note One Shot Manga

deathnote_manga1

This February 11 Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump will be releasing one new episode of Tsugumi Ooba and Takeshi Obata's Death Note. This will be a one shot Manga.

In this stand alone chapter we will see the story after the end of the original Manga and specifically the rise of a new Kira.

The Manga will consist in 44 pages and some of them in color. Maybe this could give birth to a new Manga with a new and hopefully different story, I hope to see this one shot Manga soon in America and I expect it to be as good as the previews Manga.

"Mangaka-san to Assistant-san to"

The author of Doujin Work, Hiroyuki, will start a new Manga serialization in the Young Gangan magazine, the name will be "Mangaka-san to Assistant-san to" translated as "Mangaka and Assistant and".

doujinwork

The subject of the Manga will be the Mangaka lifestyle something that is well received by Manga fans because many of us are Mangaka wannabe's too. This theme use to be very funny too.

Toriyama

This reminds me about the Akira Toriyama's Manga named "Taller de Manga" (Manga Workshop), I only know the Spanish title. It was about a Mangaka (Toriyama in robot version) and an assistant who is an apprentice too. They teach readers how to make a Manga from the start, choosing characters, drawing, accommodate frames, etc. They even teach you how to talk with the editor to get your Manga published... and fail.

This Manga was very funny and educational, and I think this new one "Mangaka-san to Assistant-san to" could be something like this, I hope so, I really liked it
